The ride will be a solo bicycle ride from San Francisco to Houston.  I will drive from the Bay Area to Manteca, CA where the cycling officially begins.  I will be followed by my friend Babe Choate who will be documenting the ride.  He was a huge supporter while I was sick, and I am happy to have him donate his time to this cause.  It would not be possible without him.  We will head through Yosemite, down through Death Valley and over to Las Vegas.  At this point we'll enter Arizona, crossing just below Flagstaff, entering New Mexico at Red Hill on Hwy 60.  The New Mexico crossing will roughly follow Hwy 380 to Roswell, cutting south through Hobbs, entering Texas on Hwy 176 at Frankel City.  The route will zig-zag across Texas to Austin, passing towns such as Big Spring, Ballinger, Mason and Llano.  We will go through Austin and will arrive in Houston on October 4 to present The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center with the money raised by the ride.  I will also be acknowledging my Oncologist Dr. M.A. Burgess, without whom none of this would be possible.
